Gloria Sevilla, M.S.

Gloria Sevilla, M.S., is a third-year elementary bilingual education specialist on the Central Coast of California. She is recognized for her interdisciplinary work, which bridges the fields of special education and bilingualism (translanguaging), with a focus on culturally responsive, universally designed pedagogies. She was recently selected as one of three awardees for the 2026 Santa Barbara County Education Office Distinguished New Educator Award. Sevilla’s work has also been published with Edutopia and will soon be published with the TESOL Press’ New Ways in Teaching Young Learners. Outside of the classroom, Sevilla has served her community as the director and instructor of the high school team, Ballet Folklórico Corazón de Oro.
