Given to someone who is beginning his/her career and showing promise as a teacher educator. Individuals who finished their doctoral work less than 6 years ago are eligible. These nominees must be contributing to teacher education in a significant way.

- Members and non-members can nominate
- While not mandatory (except for Burton Blatt which requires at least two nominations), we highly encourage multiple nominations for each nominee
- All nominations due by 11:59pm Eastern time on September 30
- Award winners will be notified by the end of October and awards will be formally presented at the DADD conference in January
