Promoting Physical Activity in Youth with Autism and Developmental Disabilities

Dr. Bassette is an assistant professor of Special Education at Ball State University and has been a member of DADD since 2009. Dr. Bassette has her PhD and is a Board Certified Behavioral Analysis (BCBA). In this video she first defines behavioral principals to consider when implementing this strategy. Then she goes on to describe how to promote physical activity by considering one's movement preferences, how to use other supports (i.e., task analysis), available resources (i.e., application, website, and videos to use), and other considerations to take into account (i.e., coaching, reinforcement, etc.) Enjoy!
